Purifying the Air You Breathe

Purifying the Air You Breathe

What comes to mind when you hear the word ozone?
You probably think of the layer in the sky that helps filter out ultraviolet radiation from the sun. And yes, I would too but I’m actually referring to the molecule used in some air purifiers because it effectively reacts with and eliminates strong odors and airborne chemicals. While it can eliminate bad smells, it is always good to do your research before buying devices.

Is it Safe?
If it is present in high enough concentrations to eliminate bad smells, then it is also reacting with your skin, eyes, lungs, and other exposed areas and might be causing harm. It has a pleasant smell, some describe it as the smell when it first rains. But if you can smell it, it reacts with you and some say can cause long-term damage to your respiratory system. Even small amounts of ozone can cause coughing, shortness of breath, chest pains, and throat irritation. We highly recommend running the ozone purifier when the room is empty. It is recommended to adjust the machine to the right level and leave the room until the device turns off. Once ozone is produced it will decompose into oxygen, then you may go back into the room and enjoy the fresh and clean air to ensure 100% safety. Activated oxygen removes odors from tobacco, food, pets, paint, mold & mildew. It also rids your home of all kinds of airborne particles. It’s essential to read as much information as you can about the product.
